- District Court grants summary judgment in publication paper price fixing case
The U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut granted summary judgment to defendant Stora Enso North America Corporation ("SENA") which was alleged to have conspired with UPM-Kymmene Corp. ("UPM") to fix the prices charged for paper used in magazines ("publication paper"). Direct purchaser plaintiffs argued that executives at SENA and UPM met and agreed that their companies would follow price increases announced by other firms in their industry and that they would close mills to reduce the supply of publication paper. more
