PRIVATE ANTITRUST CASES DECREASE AGAIN IN 2010 -- FILINGS ARE AT THEIR LOWEST LEVEL SINCE 1992
Last year we reported on recent trends in private antitrust litigation in the U.S. We noted that in 2009, the annual number of private antitrust case filings fell by 38% to 792, which was the lowest level since 2003.

CONSUMER DAMAGES IN PRIVATE ADVERTISING LITIGATION
Nearly every state permits consumers to recover their actual monetary damages from unfair or deceptive conduct. In some cases, damages can be measured readily as the difference between what the consumer paid and the presumably lower value of what the consumer actually received.
