Resume of H. Alan  Love

H. Alan Love is Professor of Agricultural Economics at Texas A&M University. He received his B.S. with high distinction in agricultural economics from the University of Kentucky, his M.S. in agricultural and applied economics from the University of Minnesota, and his Ph.D. in agricultural and resource economics from the University of California at Berkeley in 1988. He has been on the faculty at Texas A&M since 1992. Before coming to Texas A&M, he served on the faculty at Oregon State University and as an economist at Data Resources, Inc.

Professor Love's research focuses on issues relating to the industrial organization of domestic and international markets, market power measurement, mergers and acquisitions, mechanism design, contracts and auction markets, e-commerce and the effects of government regulation and policy on agribusiness and natural resource industries.

Professor Love has received the American Agricultural Economics Association's Quality of Research Discovery Award , the Northeastern Agricultural and Resource Economics Association's Article of the Year Award, and the Texas A&M Agriculture Program's Vice Chancellor's Award in Excellence for a Research Team.
