Peter  Bronsteen

Peter Bronsteen is the President of the firm, which he founded more than two decades ago. Dr. Bronsteen earned his A.B. With Distinction in economics from Stanford University and his Ph.D. in economics from UCLA. He was awarded the Smith-Richardson Dissertation Fellowship for his doctoral research on the topic of monopoly. Prior to forming PEG, Dr. Bronsteen served as the first in-house antitrust economist for the law firm of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom. Global Competition Review includes Dr. Bronsteen on its list of the world's leading competition economists.

Dr. Bronsteen specializes in applying the fundamental principles of industrial organization economics to issues arising in antitrust cases and commercial litigation. He has experience with class certification, liability, and damages and has worked on major projects involving mergers, joint ventures, monopoly, price fixing, and restraint of trade.

Dr. Bronsteen has testified in state and federal court and has appeared before the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, the Department of State, and the Canadian Bureau of Competition Policy. He has also been retained by the Department of Justice on a number of occasions to analyze the likely competitive impact of proposed business combinations.

Some of Dr. Bronsteen's recent publications include "The Economics of NASCAR," which is forthcoming in The Oxford Handbook of Sports Economics, and "The Fundamental Economics of Class Certification," which has been published by the Economics Committee of the ABA Antitrust Section. Dr. Bronsteen has also published articles and participated in panel discussions on the standards for determining the relevance and reliability of testimony by economists under Daubert.
